Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
I cheated the urban outfitters system buying these shoes. I tried them on in the store, where they were full price, then I looked at the online store and bought them for $40. Sneaky little me.
I finally got a second job as a hostess for a Japanese restaurant quite near my place of residence. They gave me this 90’s sheath dress and told me to wear black flats. Then came the hard part: I don’t have any black flats that I like. You’d think someone like me would have a bounty of black flats. You’d be wrong. I have one pair and they’re too scuffed looking. So I went on the search for a new pair. Yet I couldn’t stop trying on black wedges. For some reason, my heart is yearning for black wedges.
Finally, I found a single black wool Mary Jane in the sale rack at American Eagle; the other shoe was nowhere in sight. But after searching the store wall to wall I found the other one under a pile of random stuff. $8.99 and it feels so good. So: here’s to a new beginning. Two and a half part time jobs again, but in a different city. One real passion. Let’s go.
